Cashiers Area Weather Centers, located throughout the valley of Cashiers,
North Carolina, broadcasts live via the airwaves twenty four hours a day, seven
days a week giving visitors to the site up to date weather information as it
occurs.
They have been a vital tool to the communities it presides by allowing
businesses and residents to know the temperature or a days precipitation at any
time. Cashiers Area Weather Centers are rarely offline and were the only
weather centers around and up and running during all of the hurricanes which
have effected Cashiers over the past five years.  During Hurricanes Ivan and
Frances, they were the base point of activity informing visitors and help crews
The Cashiers Area Weather Center is also a vital tool in the winter time to
let Jackson County Schools know the weather in Cashiers, allowing them to
make decisions on openings and closings - though not being in the area.
